TOTTENHAM VS ARSENAL: It doesn’t look good for Takehiro Tomiyasu and Emile Smith Rowe to play on Sunday after failing to fully recover in time to even make the bench against Liverpool.

As optimistic as we are, the wounded pair’s return to fitness will take some time.

While losing Cedric to injury just under ten minutes into the game isn’t a major problem in terms of quality, it does contribute to the team’s selection woes.

Martin Odegaard will also be sorely missed. He was confirmed to have infected Covid before the Liverpool draw, and despite his isolation time being cut to five days, he is now guaranteed to miss the derby.

Xhaka has, to put it bluntly, messed up Arsenal’s season. His suspension could not have come at a worse time, and with a loan move for Arthur still in the works, Arsenal’s central areas are dangerously weak. Bukayo Saka had to shuffle off late as well, hoping it was just cramp.

Tottenham, on the other hand, is in much better form.

However, they will be without four players for this match, with central defensive duo Eric Dier and Cristiano Romero still out with injuries and unlikely to return in time for the derby.

Steven Bergwijn, who has been linked with a January exit, is out with a calf problem, but Arsenal will benefit from the fact that the hosts will be without Son Heung-min, who is expected to remain out until February..
