Thomas Tuchel has Frank Lampard’s support, now the Chelsea fans’ turn (See Full Gist)

Many Chelsea fans who woke up on Monday and felt disappointed, betrayed, and saddened about the news that Frank Lampard had been sacked.

Those feelings still linger. But listening to Thomas Tuchel’s introductory press conference on Thursday, there were feelings of relief and closure as the club heads into a new era at Stamford Bridge

If you are unaware what I am referring to, Tuchel was asked a question on if he was worried that Blues’ fans may show anger towards him and his response was “I hope not because it would be hard on the team“.

What came after that was the intriguing part where Tuchel talked about his admiration for Lampard as a player and what he has done for the club. He revealed he received a message from Lampard Thursday morning wishing him good luck.

I can only speak for myself, but I hope from here forward that fans can support the manager and hope he can push the club towards success and good times.

No matter what happened to Lampard he showed he still is a Chelsea fan and always will be despite losing his job. This attitude will hopefully be the sentiment for many fans.

So where to do we go from here? There won’t be the same emotion towards Tuchel as there was with Lampard, but fans must show support when results are good and, like with any other manager, when results are bad hold them accountable.

Chelsea is currently in eighth, only seven points of top four, so there is still so much to play for going forward. Hopefully Tuchel can implement his philosophy amongst the squad sooner rather than later because points cannot be dropped going forward with so many teams in the hunt for a coveted top four position.

When supporting Chelsea Football Club you know exactly what it entails. The board doesn’t care about what a manager did for us in the past but what are they doing for the club currently, which leads to the managerial merry go around. Results are paramount.

Will some fans ever be over Lampard being sacked? Time will only tell. What I can say is that I love this club and all the good memories that it has brought to my life.

Because of that, I want nothing more than to see us back to where we belong. So, I think at this point, just like I felt in 2015 when Jose Mourinho was sacked, it is important to show everlasting support to the club we love no matter what are feelings are internally.

The Tuchel era will truly start on Sunday against Burnley. Hopefully, that can be the moment where fans see the talent of this squad that the board invested in and give fans something to smile about.
