Thiago Silva reveals how Frank Lampard convinced him to sign for Chelsea

Published

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva said he was won over by Frank Lampard’s determination to make him an integral part of the Blues’ future.

The Brazilian defender spent eight years with Paris Saint-Germain before moving to Stamford Bridge last summer, where he signed an initial 12-month deal.

Interest wasn’t short in Silva given his reputation as one of the finest defenders of his generation but it was Chelsea that won the race for his signature.

The Blues had to fight off a late attempt from Paris Saint-Germain to keep Silva but the former AC Milan star says it was Lampard’s insistence that the defender’s age didn’t matter that convinced him to move to west London.
