Solskjaer confirms two Manchester United Playere will not extend their stay beyond the summer

Published

Manchester United shows no love for Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero as their seek to end their time at Old Trafford permanently.

Manchester United have certainly surprised the league but in actual fact have taken advantage of a crazy Premier League campaign. Ole and his boys sit three points at the summit of the EPL standings.

It has been eight years since they’ve last been at the top at this point in the league campaign. Their next domestic fixture and the cup game that follows will prove just how far Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come in his three-year spell at the Theatre of Dreams.

They take on their oldest foes in the game, Liverpool, in search of title number 21. This Sunday is a direct fight with first playing second at Anfield.

Hot News!!   UPDATE: Chelsea £120,000 a-week star keen on to sign new deal

Sadly, two players who have not enjoyed the rise of the Red Devils are Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero. The two became surplus of requirement and the club now wants to offload them as soon as possible.

Both Argentinians are out of contract when the season ends, so a move now will best suit United and the players.

How will Man United benefit from a transfer now? They could recover some funds for them instead of losing them on a free in the summer.

Manchester United are keeping their hopes up a bid will be submitted from Boca Juniors for Rojo. The Old Trafford side has already made it clear they will not be extending their stay beyond the summer.

Rojo was brought in from Sporting Lisbon for £16 million (€20 million) in 2014 while Romero, who was once regarded as the best second choice goalkeeper in Europe, came in on a free transfer after departing from Sampdoria back in 2015.

Solskjaer: “Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero have contracts until the summer and they’re not going to be extended”. Man Utd are still hoping to receive official bid from Boca Juniors for Rojo. Odion Ighalo will also leave the club at the end of January. 🔴 #mufc #transfers

Hot News!!   2 in and 2 out: See how Arsenal's 25-man squad could look by end of January transfer window

— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 8, 2021

The pair have not featured at all this season. The last Marcos Rojo played a top-flight game for Man United was back in 2019 and Sergio Romero’s was last seen in between the sticks last year 2020.

Since Dean Henderson was denied a return to Sheffield United, Sergio has been reduced to a spectators role at Old Trafford. He wanted to leave but Ole denied a late exit for the stopper.
