Reports: Arsenal Agree Permanent Transfer Deal For On Loan 20-years-old Defender

Harry Clarke

With Arsenal having to compete in three different competitions this month, there will be enough of football to sink our teeth into, but transfers will also take center stage.

With Arsenal set to say goodbye to four members of their squad until at least February, AFCON could influence what Mikel Arteta and his teammates do in the market, as more departures could require action.

The same goes for Kevin Betsy, who might see a number of his academy players leave on loan or permanently, several of whom have been earning admiring glances away from north London with some impressive displays.

Harry Clarke, who joined Ross County on loan in the summer and has been in excellent form since, is one of them. The centre-back spent a season on loan at Ross County, where he made 17 appearances and was named Player of the Month in November.

Arsenal and Hibernian have agreed on a loan agreement for Harry Clarke, which will become a permanent transfer at the conclusion of the season.

According to the Scottish Sun and other sites, the 20-year-old has been recalled from his temporary move to Dingwall and will instead join neighbouring Scottish side Hibernian.

Harry Clarke sign new contract for Arsenal

According to reports, the Edinburgh club will keep his services until May on a loan, but with Clarke’s contract at Arsenal expiring in the summer, the temporary transition will be with the intention of becoming a permanent move.

Malky Mackay, the manager of Ross County, accepted defeat in his attempt to keep the player:

“Although we are disappointed to be losing Harry, I would want to thank him for his effort over the previous six months, during which time I believe he has become a more rounded player,” he stated.

Clarke has never played for Arsenal in a competitive match, however he did travel to Scotland with the senior squad for pre-season training, where he played against Hibernian.

Clarke has made a good decision by joining Shaun Maloney’s side, who are presently fifth in the Scottish Premiership, just seven points behind Hearts in third, despite some speculation that he could have made a bigger impact at Arsenal.
