Arsenal will visit Liverpool at Anfield this evening and Paul Merson and Graeme Souness have their predictions to argue about.

The Gunners have failed to record a Premier League win against Liverpool at Anfield since 2012/2013 season, a match which Mikel Arteta featured in as a player but the North London club will look to break that long-time horrible streak when they visit Anfield on Satursay evening.

Paul Merson makes his predictions and assume the Gunner’s can suprise Jurgen Klop sode and take away the 3 point when they visit Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool will welcome in-form Arsenal in what is seems to be a must win match for the both side.

Anfield has not been a place of joy for the Gunners who are yet to recors a victory on the Merseyside ground since 2012/2013 campaign.

However, Arsenal look more promissing at the moment, going unbeaten in their last eight league games.

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson claims that Mikel Arteta’s side can get something from the game despite their poor record ar Anfield in recent years.

The pundit said in his Sportskeeda column: “This is most definitely the game of the Premier League weekend and a big one for both teams.

” Liverpool are trying to win the league and have to bounce back from their defeat against West Ham. Arsenal, on the other hand, are flying a little bit and are on a run, but they won’t want to be billed as flat-track bullies.

“They need to get a result here against one of the best teams in the country and even if they don’t, there are ways to lose a football match. I’ve said since the start of the season that if Arsenal keep their starting XI fit, they can get top four.

“Judging by the aspirations of the two clubs, a draw would be good for Arsenal, while Liverpool will be unhappy with it as they are trying to win the Premier League.

“However, I predict the two sides to share the spoils at Anfield.

“Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal.”

Graeme Souness disagrees with Merson’s prediction, however, and believes it will be a straightforward win for Liverpool as they will be determined to bounce back from their defeat against West Ham before the international break.

Speaking on Sky Sports‘ Essential Football Podcast, he said: “I think Liverpool will be the angry team having lost last time out where they were not at their normal standards.

“So I’m expecting a full-throttle Liverpool against an Arsenal team who will be turning up with a bit of confidence and I’d be cautious with that.

“But given the teams they (Arsenal) have been playing of late, they’re not exactly top of the table teams: an average Leicester this year, a draw with Brighton, beating Watford, Norwich and beating a very poor Spurs team

“They’ve got some confidence from winning games and they’re sitting in a very healthy position in the league but the hard part of their season is ahead.”

“(It will go the) same way’, Souness said asked for his prediction given the Gunners’ poor form at Liverpool.

“No matter what Liverpool team play, whatever the selection is, I think Liverpool will be an angry team with a point to prove at the weekend.”
