Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Manchester United press conference highlights and reactions

Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke to the press ahead of facing Fulham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke to the press on Tuesday afternoon as he previewed Manchester United’s upcoming clash with Fulham in the Premier League.

United remain top of the league table following their draw at Anfield on Sunday but could kick off in third heading into the clash at Craven Cottage if Leicester beat Chelsea and City beat Aston Villa this week.

United have won their last four Premier League games away to Fulham, by an aggregate score of 12-1. Their hopes are also boosted by a record which sees them unbeaten in their last eight games against promoted sides (W6 D2), scoring 25 goals in those games since a 0-2 loss to Cardiff in May 2019.

The United manager confirmed Brandon Williams is still not available for selection but Amad Diallo could make his debut this month after impressing in training.

The main talking points
A look at the main talking points from the press conference.

Solskjaer on Hege Riise linked with England Women’s job

“That is speculation! I know Hege has done really well, she has had a fantastic career with both club and country. England would have a very good coach and a very good human being.”

Are you enjoying being United manager?
“Of course I’m enjoying it, I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t and didn’t feel I was giving something back to the club, I can’t say there’s a lot I don’t enjoy.

“I don’t enjoy leaving players out, it’s hard for big games, players who deserve to play, it’s a difficult job to tell them on Sunday they’re not in a job and on Monday they’re back in a job.

Hot News!!   This is Sad!! Hector Bellerin ready to leave Arsenal in the summer

“The chat to explain why they don’t play isn’t a good one because of reasons to play but that’s what I love about the job as well, working with human beings, to get the job of individuals so we can get the team together. “

Worried by recent lack of goals?

“I think this season we’ve scored more goals, created more chances than before, it’s a matter of time until those margins that were against us against Liverpool tip our way again. Relationships are working better, the foundation will always be the hard work and the shape and at Manchester United we are expected to create chances from everywhere.”
