Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has emerge as a serious target for Newcastle United this on going winter window, with the Magpies set to make a surprising loan offer for the North London giants forward.

The Magpies will also add a buy option if a move is finally agreed upon.

The Gabonese striker and the Gunners have been at odds for the past month, ever since the Spanish manager opted to shake things up and axe the striker. Despite flashes of his earlier form, Aubameyang was wasteful on a regular basis, which did not help Arsenal achieve their goals.

Because of a disciplinary breach, Mikel Arteta and the Gunners stripped Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of his captaincy, and he has since been barred from first-team duties.

The game between Arsenal and Manchester City on Saturday was the fifth Premier League encounter in a row that the 32-year-old striker has missed, with the Gunners winning four of them and performing impressive against City aswell.

Despite their recent defeat to the Premier League winners, the Gunners have been in excellent form without their former captain, scoring 15 goals in their past five Premier League games.

The Gabonese striker’s days at Emirates Stadium appear to be numbered, with Arsenal apparently willing to release him as early as January.

The Magpies have previously expressed interest in the African centre-forward when reports surfaced that the new administration wanted big players to join them. To prevent relegation, Eddie Howe insisted on bringing in defenders and midfielders first.

Newcastle are still ready to make a move for Gunners forward in other to strengthen their forwardline and avoid relegation.

A move for the striker is still very possible before the end of January transfer window
