Merson predicts the outcome of Chelsea’s game against Middlesbrough

Today’s FA Cup match between Chelsea and Middlesbrough is expected to be won by Chelsea, according to Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.

In spite of Thomas Tuchel’s side coming up against a formidable opponent, Merson would like to see the Blues reach the semi-finals.

This is one game I can’t see Chelsea not winning. Boro will make life tougher for them as they did against Spurs, but Chelsea have so much talent that they’re spoilt for choice.

Tuchel has proven in recent matches that he can keep his players focused on football when faced with all the other commitments at the club. Blues are professionals, however, and they are professionals who are prefect on football.

The depth of their starting line-up means that they still have a shot at winning even if the starting lineup rotates a bit.

It is a surprise that Mr. Merson predicted a 3-1 win for Chelsea given their lack of goalscoring ability. Middlesbrough, who knocked out Tottenham, will keep things tight at the back as well, so a three goal win should be no problem.
