Why Manchester United Superstar Will Need To Take A Big Wage Slash To Seal The Return

Manchester United

Manchester United has one of the best and most high-profile teams in football right now.

The Red Devils just strengthened their squad with names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane to their squad in the same summer transfer window.

Now though, the priority must change course towards keeping those who are already at the club. And one man whose Manchester United destiny is up in the air at this time is Paul Pogba.

The French midfield maestro’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to end in the summer of 2022. And as it stands, all alternatives are open at the moment with concerns to his future, with some even implying that a return to Juventus might be on the cards. That will be risky though.

As reported by our sources, Pogba is an option but one that Juventus cannot afford at this point. The Frenchman would have to considerably reduce his wages if he was to return to the Italian giant’s next summer.

However, Manchester United want to keep Pogba at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman had departed Old Trafford in the past to join Juventus on a free transfer. Of course, that happened back in the summer of 2012 when he was a teenager.

At Juventus, he would go on to solidify himself as one of the most exciting players in all of Europe before finalizing a return to Manchester United in the summer of 2016 in a then world-record transfer move.

Could history be about to repeat itself once again with Pogba walking out of Old Trafford as a free agent to join Juventus? It does feel unlikely, to be honest.

Some recent reports have signified that Pogba is open to staying at Manchester United and lengthening his contract. But then, he has also been linked with clubs like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in recent times. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the midfielder.
