Liverpool and England will be without Alexander-Arnold with a hamstring injury, confirms Klopp

Liverpool:Under Klopp, Reds are set to play in their first FA Cup quarterfinal, one of the few blots on his resume since Merseyside coming.

The Liverpool forward will miss Liverpool’s FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest and is unavailable for international duty with England, according to Jurgen Klopp.

A few weeks after capturing the EFL Cup against Chelsea at Wembley, the Reds will be looking to reach the semi-finals at the City Ground.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said at the pre-match news conference that both Trent and Mo will miss the match with hamstring injuries. “It’s not good news, but we’ll see how it goes.” said Klopp.

It will be a difficult task for them this weekend without Alexander-Arnold, while Mohammed Salah is also a question mark for the visiting side.

Klopp’s side remain in contention for both Premier League and Champions League, if they win this game.

Gareth Southgate named the full-back to the latest England squad on Thursday, which means he will miss the Three Lions’ next international friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast in March.

With a win over Forest – who are in the last eight for the first time since 1995 the Reds will move closer to adding to their trophy cabinet.

When asked how his side would cope without Alexander-Arnold, Klopp replied: “We’ll see. He is a difficult man to replace, but we have James,Milner, Joe Gomez, and other players of that caliber. Trent is so influential, but Milner has performed incredibly well in the past. It will be interesting.”.
