Arsenal Midfielder and former Captain Granit Xhaka says he’s still playing for the North London club only because of the Presence of the Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
Xhaka was withdrawn as Arsenal captain by the former manager Unai Emery, who is now managing Villarreal.
The Swiss captain was expected to depart Emirates Stadium then but he has now walk his way in-to Mikel Arteta first team line-up.
Granit Xhaka in a recent interview said: “Mikel is the person because of whom I still play for Arsenal.
“Everyone knows what happened a couple of years ago. Everyone remembers my conflict with the fans.
“If it weren’t for Arteta, I wouldn’t be playing for Arsenal right now.”
The Swiss international will be expected to in the Gunners Line-up against Manchester City on New Year day.
Arsenal will be hoping to extend their impressive form, only if the North London club will be fit enough to stop Pep Guardiola in-form team.
