Former Premier League striker have branded Mikel Arteta Arsenal’s squad branded ‘boring, immature and flimsy’ after the Gunners suffered a defeat at Goodison Park on Mondau night.

Mikel Arteta’s men suffered their sixth Premier League defeat of the season in a well deserved 2-1 defeat at hands of Everton.

Goals drom Richarlison and Demarai Gray gives the Toffees their first win in nine matches to reduce the pressure on Rafael Benitez.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will now live with pressure, with fans frustrated by the team lack of progress so far.

Arsenal have now lost six matches out of 15 games play so far this season, and now slipped to seventh spot on the League table, four points off Top four spot.

Former Premier League striker and fans Darren Bent and Perry Groves were both hosted on talkSPORT Breakfast and both were left unconvinced by the Gunners form.

“I watched Arsenal and thought: ‘How boring are we now?’”, former Premier League striker and Gunners fan Darren Bent told the talkSPORT Breakfast.

“We used to have an identity in the way we played, but that first half last night was hard to watch in terms of what Arsenal were trying to do.

“You could quite clearly see that we missed Smith-Rowe – he’s the spark in that team at the minute – but it just looked so lacklustre.

“There’s no desire in trying to get the ball back, there was no energy, we were just trying to get the ball to Saka.

“The whole thing just didn’t fit.

“You can quite clearly see when Liverpool go one-up they want to get three, four, five. It’s almost like Arsenal don’t trust where they are after taking the lead.

Arsenal got fortunate it was only 2-1 and on any given day, any other given team can beat Arsenal.

“They’re not hard to play against. If Norwich turn up and put put it together, they could beat Arsenal.”

Perry Groves, who spent six years at Arsenal from 1986, echoed the sentiments of Bent as he branded his former club ‘immature’.

“We showed our flakiness, it’s come back,” he told the Sports Bar following Arsenal’s defeat.

“We were flimsy and it was the same thing at Old Trafford, we were giving the ball away.

“Aubameyang should have scored at the end but that just papers over the cracks.

“Arsenal are an immature team at certain times in games.”
