‘first update’ will be given to Chelsea bidders today after they have received nearly 40 offers

Chelsea bidders to be updated today

Up to ten bids have gone on record to clarify applications before Friday’s deadline. Nearly 40 bids have been registered before Friday’s submission deadline.

Todd Boehly, the part-owner of the LA Dodgers, and others claim they are on track to complete the deal by Chelsea’s next home match against Brentford on April 2. Richard Masters, the Premier League chief executive, also said the deal could be completed by that date.

Upon selecting a preferred bid, Raine will file an application with the government to amend the terms of the club’s special operating licence, so that a sale can be completed.

In a statement published by Football.London, the Raine Group said several bidders for Chelsea are expecting to hear an update from the group later today (Monday) about the bidding process.

Since Friday night’s 9pm deadline, Rainey, the New York-based investment bank that oversees the process, has been evaluating the bids since Roman Abramovich announces his intent to sell. The investment bank spent the weekend screening the weaker offers.

As a result of the financial pressure placed on the club, preferred bidders are expected to be notified soon.
