England head coash Gareth Southgate has explained why he decided to exclude the in-form Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe from his World Cup qualifier squad which was released few days back.

The 21-years-old has been in an excellent form lately, having found back of the net three times and recorded two assist in his last five league games for Arsenal.

However, despite his fine and brilliant form, his name has been omitted from the Three Lions squad and he has to be forced to settle for a place in the England Under-21 squad after being snub by England Coash Southgate.

The Three Lions will be facing Albania and San Marino in the 2022 World Cup qualifying matches which is to be play later this month.

Southgate has instead he decided to rely on his already established members of his squad.

The Three Lions need to secure atleast four points from their remaining two World Cup qualifiers game to secure their place at next the 2022 World Cup.

Emile Smith Rowe

Gareth Southgate was asked about the omission of Smith Rowe in a press-conference following his squad annoucement, and the England coash said: “Emile Smith Rowe, Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi are all playing very well for their clubs, but we’ve got depth.

“To include them, we’ve got to leave some of the players on the sheet out. It’s not a bad thing that we’re starting to get a very strong Under-21 team.

“We fast-track a lot of players very quickly. A lot of them [former U21 players] are in this squad now and played a big part in the Euros.

“When you put them back to the 21s that can be complicated. It’s a little bit early – we could put them in and they would be absolutely fine, by the way.”

It can be recalled the England coash said during the last International break that Smith Rowe was very close to making his list, this seems a call-up is not far anymore.

Meanwhile, two of Smith Rowe Arsenal teammates earned the England boss call-up, Bukayo Sake and in-form Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

With the current form of Ramsdale, southgate will be expected to give him a try at the expense of benching Jordan Pickford. The manager had already admitted that the Arsebal Goolie is challenging Pickford for England number one spot.
