CONFIRMED: Full Arsenal squad to face Newcastle United in Today’s Premier League clash

A list of every player available to feature for the Gunners on Sunday afternoon, as David Luiz is in contention for a return to Mikel Arteta’s squad after returning to training

David Luiz is in contention to feature for Arsenal in their Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

The 34-year-old defender has been sidelined since the 3-3 draw with West Ham United in March with a knee problem.

However, Mikel Arteta may be able to call on Luiz for the trip to the north east on Sunday, where the Gunners face Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

Pablo Mari and Rob Holding started as the centre-back pairing for Thursday’s Europa League defeat to Villarreal and could be rested for Sunday’s match.

Arteta could make a few changes for the game, with his side in action again on Thursday for the second-leg of the European tie.

The Arsenal boss won’t be able to pick Alexandre Lacazette, though, with the French striker still struggling with a hamstring injury.

Lacazette is “responding well to treatment and is starting to integrate back into full training”, according to the club’s official website.

It also states that the aim is to get the Gunners forward ready for Thursday’s huge match, meaning he has been ruled out of the Newcastle clash.

Kieran Tierney will be “assessed” prior to Sunday’s game to see if he is fit enough to feature.

Tierney injured his left knee in last month’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium, but is nearing a comeback.

There are currently no further injury problems for Arteta to contend with ahead of the Magpies test.
