Chelsea draw Real Madrid and Pep v Simeone leads Man City to Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti and Chelsea will reunite

Chelsea draw Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid will take on Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. Manchester City will take on Chelsea.

Those two teams will meet in an intriguing semi-final in which Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone will play key roles.

Previously, Liverpool lost to the Portuguese giants at the last-16 stage of the Champions League 2005-06 season, their last meeting. Currently, Benfica are in form and face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich, who defeated Salzburg 8-2 on aggregate, face Villareal after the Spanish side shocked Juve 1-0.

Manchester United was knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid and will be looking to claim another major scalp in the north-west of England.

Hazard and Courtois were at their old club before the owner of Málaga was sanctioned.

Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti is up against his former club in a repeat of last season’s semi-final, which Chelsea won 3-1.

In response to Russia’s military action in Ukraine, the final will be played at the Stade de France on May 28.

During the quarterfinal ties April 5-6 and April 12-13, the semi-finals will be held April 26-27 and May 3-4.
