Bruno Fernandes names four Man Utd players who stay behind for extra training sessions (Read More)

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a tough job pulling Bruno Fernandes off the training pitch at times with the Red Devils star opening up on the others who stay behind

Bruno Fernandes has named the four Manchester United stars who stay behind with him after training sessions.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he has a tough job pulling Fernandes off the training pitch at times following the FA Cup win over Liverpool.

Solskjaer explained that Fernandes often stays late to practise his free-kicks, with it working well as the Portuguese star netted a set-piece winner against the Reds.

Though it seems it’s not only the former Sporting Lisbon ace who ensures he keeps his skills at the top level.

Fernandes has explained that Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Alex Telles and Fred also stay on the pitch at Carrington.

When asked if he practiced free-kicks, Fernandes told MUTV: “I think almost every day. Sometimes he [Solskjaer] has to kick me out of the training to stop.

“I’m always working on that kind of situation. I like to watch and learn from Juan because I think he is a really good specialist.

“I think in training we stay there most of the time – me and Juan stay longer, but also Alex, Rashy, Fred also stays with us.”

Red Devils boss Solskjaer was delighted to see Fernandes find the bottom corner with his strike against Liverpool.

Though Fernandes has admitted the proximity of the free-kick helped him earn the right to take it.

The midfielder added: “I think normally a little bit more long distance is for Rashy.

“I think he feels more comfortable [from there], for me it is the same, to go the [closer] distance. I think closer to the box is better for me, for the kind of shot I have.

“Of course, if Juan and Alex are on the pitch it’s a chance for them, more on the right side. I think we have good free-kick specialists.

“I think we have some players who can take [good free-kicks]. It will depend on the moment. In that moment, I felt I was confident to take the free-kick. It was me and luckily it was a goal.”
