Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in a recent intervew stressed that he would have been nominated on the 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist if he had chosen to play for France National team instead of Senegal.

The Chelsea Goalkeeper was spectacular for the blues last season, keeping mine clean sheets and winning the UEFA Championd League trophy for the blues.

Despite his brilliant and high performance last season, the Chelsea Goalkeeper was snub for the prestigious individual awards for the best players in the world.

“It’s something that motivates me and pushes me to work. Honestly, I am wondering.

“If I had played for France and had taken part in the Euro, would we have this debate and this reflection?” Edouard Mendy told Canal Plus via Wiw Sport.

In the absense of Mendy, two of his Chelsea teammates made it to the 30-man list, France International N’Golo Kante and Italy International Jorginho both made it to the list.
