According to a rumor in Italy, Juventus has demanded Arsenal to also include Thomas Partey as a straight swap in a deal for Arthur Melo.

According to Sky Sport Italia, as reported by Metro, the Serie A heavyweights are open to a negotiation with Gunners for the transfer of Arthur on one condition.

According to the same story, Juventus has set their sights on Ghana international Partey of Arsenal, and the Italian club wants the 28-year-old to be part of any possible transfer deal for Arthur.

The Turin club, according to the same report, are lovers of the ex-Atletico Madrid midfielder, despite his uneven performances at Arsenal since his move to the north London club in 2020.

Arsenal and Arthur have since negotiated personal terms, according to Sky Sport Italia, but so Arsenal are still in talks with Juventus.

According to the Italian media outlet, Juve are hesitant to transfer Arthur until they have a successor planned for the Brazilian midfielder.

According to the source, Juventus are interested in both Chelsea FC playmaker Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Partey.

According to the source, Arsenal do not want Partey to be part of the trade, despite the fact that the Ghanaian international is an important member of Mikel Arteta’s team.

Over the past two seasons, Partey has one goal in 50 appearances in all competitions, whereas Melo has one goal in 30 games in the Italian top division since joining Turin from FC Barcelona.

It’s tough to imagine Arsenal letting Partey go only about two years after signing him for £45 million from Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners require a new central midfielder, but Arteta will be hesitant to lose a player to bring Arthur in.

As a result, Arsenal will either need to spend more money or look for reinforcements elsewhere.
