Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made it known that he wants striker Eddie Nketiah to commit to a new deal at Arsenal.

Eddie Nketiah current deal at Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the season.

Nketiah started in Arsenal 2:0 Carabao Cup win against Leads United and scored a goal which contribute to the team reaching the quarter-final of the EFL Cup.

Eddie Nketiah is yet to featured in a signle Premier League game this season, but he has been a regular starter for Mikel Arteta’s squad un the League Cup which he recorded a goal in each of the two rounds played.

The 22-years-old was on his way out of Arsenal in the sunmer, with Crystal Palace showing interest in him, the deal was not successful due to some factors and now the Gunners star look to be a free agent and quite Arsenal on a free transfer next summer if his deal is not rennew.

However, Arsenal head coash Mikel Arteta has made his stance known on the 22-years-old England forward as he claimed he wants his striker to stay and believes he has a big future ahead of him at Emirates Stadium.

‘We had a situation in the summer that we tried to resolve and we couldn’t either way,’ explained the Spaniard after the win over the Whites. ‘That’s the contract situation.

‘It’s more and more common in football with where we are coming from with COVID and a lot of the issues that we have to resolve. I have full belief that he’s going to be a top, top player and hopefully at Arsenal.

‘I’m so happy to have him in the team. He’s our player and I consider him and regard him really highly. From my side I want him to stay.
