Arsenal legend Martin Keown has calls for Pierre-Emeirck Aubameyang to be stripped of Arsenal captaincy.

Aubameyang had been subjected to lack of disciplinary and misbehaviours in recent weeks.

The Gunners captain was absence Arsenal last league game against Southampton, a game which he team needs him more

There have been suggestions that the Gabon International was given permission to travel abroad on a personal reason but he decided to return late which sees him miss the team. And the former Gunners defender Martin Keown has stated that the 32-years-old actiond aren’t worthy to be the club captain.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Keown said: “The captaincy is in question now.

“You can’t keep being late or disappearing on trips abroad and not coming back on time.

“Your team needs you and he’s not there when they need him the most. I’d expect that [the captaincy to change now.”

Arsenal will take on West Ham United in their next league match and Aubameyang will be expected to lead his side.

The Gunners currently sit in sixth spot on the league table, two points behind West Ham United who sit fourth on the table.
