Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has had an up and down campaign at PSG.

Since going through an surprising transfer drama of being in agreement with Barcelona before later joining PSG in the summer, attracting much criticism. Some suggestions were that the PSG offered more money than Barcelona, after completing agreement with the Spanish team in other to lure him away.

However, despite playing fairly regularly with his current team this term, the Dutch man has cut an unhappy figure at the club, leading to some suggesting that he could move away in the winter transfer window.

Wijnaldum is already tipped to make a move back to the EPL, with Newcastle United said to be keen on re-signing the Dutch playmaker.

Arsenal are been backed to also make an offer, although it depends on the Spanish manager’s final decision, Arsenal were said to be initially thinking of signing a new central midfield footballer as Granit Xhaka’s injury threatened to disrupt his current campaign.

Thomas Partey as well is also expected to be away with his country for Africa Cup of Nations. However, since a dramatic early return of Xhaka, things seems to be looking bright for Mikel Arteta and his plans.

The Gunners are also watching closely as both Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ainsley Maitland-Niles as a possible options, with both players performing better when called upon this term.

Gabriel Agbonlahor is assured that the Dutch man could be a great addition for the Gunners if he returns to the PL.

Aston Villa fomer centre-forward conceded that the 31-year-old midfielder might not end up joining Arsenal, considering he may want to continue playing Champions League football, something the Gunners cannot offer now.
