Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has disclosed that if he doesn’t earn more game time he could push for a transfer away from the Emirates Stadium outfit in the January transfer market.
The 29-year-old star was Arsenal’s number one last season, playing in 35 of the club’s 38 Premier League fixtures, but the battling shot-stopper has not starred in the Spanish manager Mikel Arteta’s side since their 5-0 defeat versus Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
The London giants procured the highly-rated Aaron Ramsdale for £24 million from the fellow English side Sheffield United in the summer transfer market and the ex-Blades ace has gained his place in the starting XI between the posts.
Arsenal Goalkeeper Bernd Leno told SportBild: “Only if nothing changes in my situation by winter would I have to think about things: what option do I have, how can I continue? But I’m concentrating on my work in training; I can’t commit to anything else at the moment.”
Italian champions Inter Milan have reportedly expressed an interest in Leno’s availability, but he could be keen on a return to his hometown club Stuttgart in the German top-flight Bundesliga.
The goalie has kept 35 clean sheets in 121 matches for Arsenal since completing his move to the club from Bayer Leverkusen three years ago.
