Another attack on the Premier League’s schedule, Arteta

In an attack aimed at the Premier League ahead of Arsenal’s game against Aston Villa on Saturday, Mikel Arteta criticizes the league’s schedule.

According to Arteta, the first issue is protecting the players. We have talked about avoiding Wednesday night and Saturday morning games and trips, and we understand that they have commitments and television.

We still have to play Spurs, so don’t do it twice because then what? Are we going to be the only ones who do it? You can accept this but don’t be silly.”

The former Liverpool midfielder also had words of praise for his opposite number on Saturday, Steven Gerrard, a former Rangers player who moved to Villa from Liverpool earlier in the year.

It’s hard to give him credit for what he’s done at Rangers since I played there, I know how that club functions. And I think of what he’s doing at Villa. I think so far he’s done well.”.

Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures next month (April 20 and 23) include matches against Chelsea and Manchester United in quick succession (Arteta responded sarcastically after the 2-0 defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s side).
