4-3-2-1 Expected Arsenal Line Up to face Manchester City – Bukayo Saka and Smith Rowe to start from Bench

Expected Arsenal Line Up

EXPECTED ARSENAL LINE UP: Arsenal are set to kick start the new year with a big challenge, as they play Manchester City at Emirates Stadium without some coaching staff.

Here is our Expected Arsenal line up for the Premier League encounter.

Normally a case of being almost sure who Mikel Arteta is able to select, but this time the person doing the selection won’t even be in the picture.

After Testing positive for Covid alongside a number of his staff, Albert Stuivenburg will instead take charge from the bench in Arteta’s absence, while academy manager Per Mertesacker could also be involved if needed. Maybe Jack Wilshere as well,

As for the team, there is always huge uncertainty heading into any Premier League fixtures of late with Covid tests performed multiple times daily and therefore last minute withdrawals are very possible.

One of the players who had contracted Covid earlier but is back in action is Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who was pictured back in training. However, he has been a subject of heavy speculation over a move to Italian side Roma.

The right-back situation seems no closer to be resolved with the likes of Cedric Soares, Calum Chambers and Takehiro Tomiyasu all testing positive prior to the 5-0 win over Norwich city.

Isolation rules now in the United Kingdom state that players can quarantine for 7 days as opposed to be 10 so long as they produce two negative tests, yet even still City match should come too soon for all of them to resume.

Arteta has overseen some fine performances from his side of late and will be unlikely to make wholesale changes to a winning side, even if his hands may well be forced in that regard of Emile Smith Rowe who’s is arguably the biggest decision of all.

With three goals in three substitute appearances all coming off the bench, it will be tough to keep leaving him out of the team this time. He can’t do any more than he currently is.

Arsenal vs Man City

Expected Arsenal line up

Aaron Ramsdale (Goalkeeper) – If all goes as planned the Arsenal stopper could go just one behind Ederson on the clean sheets table, despite playing three fewer games.

Benjamin White (Righ Back)Tomiyasu won’t have been able to train at all having been tested positive for Covid 19 and even therefore, it’s impossible to come back into the team now. Benjamin did well at right-back up in Norfolk and as his profile suits the position well.

Rob Holding (Center Back) – Holding against City? Yeah holding is the only option to start against a strong Manchester city side. He would have to do better this time.

Gabriel Magalhaes (Center Back) – Gabriel is always caught lacking on the physical battles he has with strikers trying to run through, but up against a side without a recognised strikers and intense movement across the front, this time his task will be very different from most usual.

Kieran Tierney (left back) – since there’s no way to test Tierney against wolves during the week. He’s set to keep is spot on the starting lineup.

Thomas Partey (CM) – Arsenal are staying strong on their decision not to deny any player the opportunity to represent their respective country. It’s a proudest honour a footballer will have and that should always be.

Thomas will very likely keep his spot this time again in the middle of the pitch, he will have to put out his best version against a strong Manchester city midfielder

Granit Xhaka (CM) – being one if the best midfielder arsenal has currently, Xhaka will surely cement a place in the lineup to face city.

The Partey and Xhaka duo is steadily improving and looking interesting.

Martin Odegaard (AM) – Following his excellent performance this December, Odegaard is nominated for the Premier League player of the month now.

Being in outstanding form the Norwegian has well and truly silenced his haters. Absolutely a magnificent form recently.

That’s turned out to be extra rest on top of a six-day match break, so the star player will be ready to go on Saturday.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST) — After playing the full 90 minutes against Norwich, Eddie Nketiah is expected to start at No. 9 against Wolves, giving Lacazette the rest he requires while he regains his fitness.

There is no way he isn’t starting for this team, the attack, and the attitude on the field.

Gabriel Martinelli (LW) – It’s a clean sweep, with the same starting lineup as the game against Norwich. That is, at least, the prediction.
